Updated May 21, 2021:
Changes in Policy for Masking
Mulberry Street UMC has been a good neighbor in implementing CDC guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID 19! Thank you for all you have done in helping to keep our church family and community healthy.
Based on new CDC Guidelines, beginning June 1st, for individuals who have been fully vaccinated against COVID 19 (two weeks after completion of full dose), wearing masks will be optional for most indoor and outdoor activities at Mulberry. Please continue to wear your masks indoors through May 31 in order to comply with state and local ordinances.
Because youth in the 12-16 age range have not had time to be fully vaccinated, and the vaccine is not yet approved for children under 12 years, the CDC also recommends that masking in schools should be continued for these age groups. So, in order to keep our precious children safe, we will continue to require masks for children over age 2 and those who are in direct contact with or in supervision of them.
For many reasons, some may feel more comfortable continuing to wear a mask indoors even if they are vaccinated and we encourage you to do that.
Mulberry’s response to this community health crisis is guided by Mathew 25:40--
“Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”
Thank you again for your cooperation and the grace you show to our church family, visitors and community. Please know that as we receive new information that affects our church policies, we will keep you informed.
