The Joy Class
In 1944, Mulberry organized a Young Adult class to accommodate many of the young soldiers, defense workers and college students crowding Macon in those World War 2 days. Our class has moved from young adults to young married couples and is now an older adult class with a close knit feel. We are the oldest continuously operating Sunday School class at Mulberry UMC. Our name, JOY, states our beliefs: Jesus, Others, You.
We use the International Lesson Series of the Adults Bible Study and each Sunday our lesson is taught by a team of dedicated teachers (Roberta Johstono, Bob Bailey, Linda Sankey, Steve Rumford, Mickey Pope, & Beth Tripp) who are not only excellent Bible students but very inspirational. The Joy Class is led by a committee of four members: Russ Barber, Carolyn Kennedy Dominy, Carol King Pope, and Mickey Pope. For more information, contact any one of them.
