ADULT MINISTRIES
From Sunday School classes to small groups to monthly lunches and activities, there are so many different ways for adults of all ages to be involved in life at Mulberry Street! We aim to develop and nurture relationships with each other as we grow in our faith and serve the world around us.
Whether you’re looking for spiritual formation, meaningful fellowship, or opportunities to serve, there’s a place for you here. Our adult ministries include Bible studies, book clubs, seasonal discipleship series, mission projects, and special gatherings that foster connection and encourage spiritual growth. We believe that faith is formed in community, and we offer spaces where you can grow closer to God and others. No matter your age or stage in life you’ll find friends for the journey here at Mulberry Street.
Sunday School classes meet at 10 am on Sunday mornings in various classrooms in the Mulberry Education Building. You are invited to join any of them, or reach out to class leaders for more information. Be on the lookout for special classes during Advent, Lent and other seasons!
The Joy Sunday School class meets on the 2nd Floor of the Education Building. The class, led by a variety of teachers, consists of members between the ages of 55-90 years of age and uses the United Methodist Adult Sunday School literature.
The Daughtery Class meets on the 2nd floor of the Education Building, in the classroom to the right of the elevator & staircase. Our class consists of members of all ages.
The Mulberry Book group meets on Sunday mornings in the Parlor (on the first floor). They are currently reading from Sunday Matters by Paul David Tripp. We have members of all ages, and everyone is invited to join in!
The Mustard Seed class meets every other week on the 2nd floor of the Education Building, in the classroom to the left of the elevator & staircase. Members of the Choir meet at 9:00 am in the Fellowship Hall for a class that concludes before choir rehearsal begins at 10:15.
Small groups play an essential role in Christian formation as a place for prayer, study, fellowship, and deep relationship. If you are looking to deepen your relationship with Christ and with others, we encourage you to join in on a group listed here!
All women are invited to join us as we attempt to turn faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth around the world. The UWF meet at noon once at month in Mulberry’s conference room for a teacher-led study. The UWF are also strong supporters of local and distant mission projects in our United Methodost Connection, hosting annual fundraisers like their annual bake sale to support projects.
The YAMs (Young Adults at Mulberry) is a small group for young professionals that meets weekly on Tuesday nights at Payton & Mallory Stone's house. We bring our dinners and share a dessert, and activities include book & bible studies, and occasionally trivia nights and other fun activities!
The Lamback Lunch Group is a welcoming gathering of adults who meet every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for prayer, discussion, and fellowship at the home of Sam and Gini Lamback. Sam, a retired United Methodist pastor, brings wisdom, warmth, and occasionally a tune on his banjo to the group! Rooted in friendship and faith, this group shares life together by supporting one another through prayer and conversation, and sometimes enjoying lunch afterward at Macon favorites like Jeneane’s.
This group of men gathers weekly in Mulberry’s Zoom Room for thoughtful discussion and mutual encouragement. Led by Rev. Creede Hinshaw, a retired United Methodist minister, the group explores a variety of topics through book studies and open dialogue. Recent conversations have included “how to practice kindness” and “The Gospel According to Johnny Cash.”
We have so many opportunities for you to spend time in fellowship at the church! Spending time together, sharing a meal, and having fun are great ways to be a part of the Mulberry community, so be sure to join us! Check the newsletter & the church calendar to keep up to date with the latest events!
