YOUTH MINISTRY

Love God & Love People. The Mulberry Street youth ministry program is an engaging, vibrant community where students from 6th to 12th grade are invited into a journey of faith. Our program encourages our young people to explore their beliefs, build lasting friendships, and engage actively in the life of the Church. Through activities, thoughtful discussion & study, and service opportunities, we walk alongside our youth and help prepare them for lifelong discipleship. The Mulberry youth group is a welcoming space for students, meant to inspire them to carry the love of Christ out to their community and beyond!

SUNDAY NIGHTS

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm in the Youth Room (3rd floor of the Education Building)

Grades 6th through 12th welcome!

We meet weekly on Sunday evenings! We come together for a time of worship, games and a message, then we move into our Small Groups, and end with dinner.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Throughout the year, we have SO many opportunities for fun outside of our normal Sunday nights! We take trips, both for fun and for mission work, we attend retreats, and do local mission projects.

Past Events: Beach trips, River of Life 2025, Conference-wide retreats, Vacation Bible School, Friendsgiving, Christmas mission projects, and much much more!

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is a journey where students explore and deepen their understanding of Christian faith, ultimately preparing them to make a public commitment to Jesus Christ and Mulberry Street UMC. Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade participate in Sunday morning classes where they learn about different topics relating to the church, the Bible, Methodism, and what it means to be a member of a Church. We are focused on guiding and instructing our Confirmands on the vows they are making to become professing members of the United Methodist Church.

Confirmation 2025 begins September 14, 2025

Every Second & Fourth Sunday • 9:45 am - 10:45 am in the Youth Room (3rd floor)

Goals for Confirmation

To have each Confirmand and rejoice in God's freedom & power and confess Jesus Christ as their Savior;
To have each Confirmand grow deeper in their faith walk and desire to be active in Youth Ministry and the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church body;
To have each Confirmation family grow deeper in their faith journey together and be renewed in their desired to serve with their prayers, their presence, their gifts, their service and their witness.

The Confirmation journey ends with a Retreat with all our Confirmands together. The spiritual foundation of the retreat features fellowship, worship, reflection, presentation of Bibles, Bible study and application, and team-building activities for the new Confirmation class.
